The federal government spent over $11.9 billion on outsourcing between 2011 and 2018. In the first of a series of investigative reports, we highlight the unchecked spending that has created a shadow public service. With national media attention and the Prime Minister answering for this in the House of Commons – the pressure is on to put a stop to outsourcing.

After we fought back Harper’s attack on our sick leave, we began negotiating the new Employee Wellness Support Program (EWSP). The recent election and change in cabinet have delayed this process. We are working hard to ensure EWSP remains a priority.

Minister Jean-Yves Duclos
First meeting with Minister Duclos
President Debi Daviau met with Minister Jean-Yves Duclos, the new President of the Treasury Board, on January 17. They discussed the Employee Wellness Support Program and Phoenix, as well as training and professional development for our IT community. Minister Duclos reported that Phoenix’s replacement, NextGen HR and Pay, remains on track.
