Rollback of Harper's Anti-labour Legislation |
On November 6th, President Debi Daviau presented before the Senate Standing Committee on National Finance on Bill C-62. This bill was introduced by the current government in October 2017 and is aimed at repealing two anti-labour pieces of legislation passed by the Harper government, Division 20 of Bill C-59 and Bill C-4.

On October 29th the Federal Government announced proactive pay equity legislation which would require federally regulated workplaces to examine their compensation practices and ensure that women and men receive equal pay for equal work.

It is with sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Iris Craig on November 4, 2018. One of the Institute’s longest-serving presidents, she was first elected President on January 1, 1986, and retired on December 31, 1993. The Institute extends its condolences to Iris’ family and to the many friends and colleagues who were privileged to know her.

2018 Legacy Foundation Scholarships
This year, 36 scholarships were awarded to our members’ children and grandchildren and students associated with our community partner, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada. To date, the Professional Institute Legacy Foundation's scholarship program has awarded $830,000 to 412 students pursuing post-secondary education.
