Union equity survey
We care about understanding how PIPSC is doing and how we can do better. That’s why we’re launching a comprehensive equity, diversity and inclusion assessment of the union that includes a survey and some interviews with members. We want to learn about your experience. The survey closes September 25, at 8:00 PM ET.

Join an equity caucus!
We’re recruiting volunteers for 6 equity caucuses that work on issues around access, inclusion, discrimination, and injustice in the workplace and at PIPSC. We envision these caucuses as platforms where members can effectively advocate for change. The deadline to join is October 6, 2022.

Workshop on mental illness
Unlike mental health, mental illnesses are diagnosed conditions that affect the way we think about ourselves, relate to others, and interact with the world around us. Workplaces don’t often accommodate the people who have them. That’s why we’re teaming up with the Canadian Mental Health Association for a workshop on mental illness in the workplace.

Stewards: your key point of contact
Summer’s over, work’s kicking back into high gear, and for many, return-to-workplace policies are coming down the pipe – a good time to remind you about your union stewards. Stewards are union representatives who help members navigate workplace issues. Whether you have a work-related question or problem, your local steward will help answer your question, find solutions, and map out any next steps.

Mounting concerns with employer’s pay equity plan
Despite union opposition, the Treasury Board’s seeking special permission to divide the Core Public Administration (CPA) into several pay equity plans, rather than providing a single one. Multiple plans divide workers, making it very hard or even impossible to achieve pay equity within the CPA.
